Tom Wesselmann was an American painter, sculptor, and printmaker who became one of the leading figures of the Pop Art movement. Best known for his iconic Great American Nude series, Still Lifes, and sculptural works, Wesselmann transformed imagery from advertising, consumer culture, and everyday life into bold compositions that explored beauty, desire, color, and the visual language of modern America. Wesselmann’s work has been exhibited internationally at major museums and institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Tate, and the Centre Pompidou. His paintings, sculptures, and prints are held in significant public collections worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the National Gallery of Art.
